    Programme

    Day 1 – 23 October 2023:


    Arbitration Proceedings

    • 10am – 11:30am: Preliminary Meeting (Case Management Conference, Procedural Order No.1 and Timetable).
    • 11:30am – 11:45am: Coffee break.
    • 11:45pm – 12:15pm: Emergency arbitrator and expedited proceedings.
    • 12:15pm – 1pm: Interim and conservatory measures (role of arbitral tribunals and state courts.
    • 1pm – 2pm: Lunch break.

    Exchange of pleadings and evidence

    • 2pm – 3:30pm: Written submissions and documentary evidence.
    • 3:30pm – 3:45pm: Coffee break.
    • 3:45pm – 4:15pm: Witness evidence (factual and expert witnesses).
    • 4:15pm – 4:45pm: Production of Documents.
    • 4:45pm – 5:30pm: Open discussion (Q&A).

    Day 2 – 24 October 2023:


    Substantive hearings

    • 10am – 11:30am: Hearing preparations (logistical and procedural matters, opening statements and agreement on list of issues).
    • 11:30am – 11:45am: Coffee break.
    • 11:45am – 12:15pm: cross-examination of witnesses (common law vs civil law).
    • 12:15pm – 1pm: things not to do in cross-examination.
    • 1pm – 2pm: Lunch break.

    Practical Training

    • 2pm – 2:30pm: Pre-hearing conference.
    • 2:30 pm – 3:30pm: Exchange of oral opening statements.
    • 3:30 pm – 3:45pm: Coffee break.
    • 3:45 pm – 4:45pm: training on putting questions to witnesses.
    • 4:45 pm – 5:30pm: Open Discussion (Q&A).
