Hiroo Advani is a highly recognised name in the field of arbitration law, with over 50 years of experience in the legal profession. Graduating with a Gold Medal from Bombay University in 1970 and completing his degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, UK, Mr Advani has since become a specialist in domestic and International Arbitration. He is a Senior Partner at Bharucha & Partners, empanelled with various arbitral institutions, including SIAC, KLRCA, and LCIA. He has presided over several arbitrations under SIAC, acting as the Presiding Arbitrator.

Mr Advani has acted as the lead counsel for some of the world’s most prominent global players in oil and gas, infrastructure, construction, and renewable energy space in a large number of arbitrations under different arbitration rules such as the LCIA, Swedish Arbitration Association, ICC, SIAC and Zurich Chamber of Commerce. He has been consistently ranked as a ‘Band 1’ Dispute Resolution Lawyer by globally reputed rankings of Chambers and Partners for the last ten years. He has once again retained his ranking in 2023.

Mr Advani has been on the Panel of Arbitrators for several arbitrations. He was elected as the first President of the Indian Arbitration Forum and acted in this capacity for several years. Mr Advani has also been invited by a large number of local and international organisations to share his insights on different aspects of arbitrations and was one of the three lawyers asked to address the sitting Supreme Court judges in an arbitration seminar.
