Dr. Tariq is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
He is also the Chairman of the Federal National Council (FNC) Finance, Economic and Industrial Committee and Chairman of the FNC Parliamentary Friendship Committee for North America and Latin American countries. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors for the Al Tayer Group of Companies.
Dr. Tariq has been a member of the UAE Federal National Council and the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program. He has also held various positions in financial institutions, including Chairman of Dubai Investment Park Development, Board Member and Vice Chairman of Dubai Islamic Bank, and Chairman of the Bank of Khartoum, Sudan.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado – Denver, a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering – Construction Engineering & Management from the University of Colorado – Boulder, USA, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona, USA.
